Mario in his racoon suit, one of the common modes of Super Mario Bros 3
This is the thirty-eighth post in our Game of the Day series.
Today I present some submitted memories from Super Mario 3, which happens to be my girlfriend’s favorite Mario game of all time too.
I remember buying a magazine that told us all the tricks to beat the game. My brother and I studied the magazine from cover to cover and played Mario 3 over and over until we won the game. I had never won a video game before. It brings such good memories of times with my brother. I still remember some of the tricks!
You needed tricks for this one, especially the warps. The game was so huge that it would take forever to beat from beginning to end and you couldn’t save!
with mario and Luigi and yoshi mario trys to hit the ememy to get to the end of the game yoshi tries to help as much as he can. sometimes if you hit the star you can go on with out hitting enemies till it runs out. and at the end if you can he rescues the princess and it was so cute! I have fond memories of it because my neighbors had it and it started my daughter into playing it way back in 1990 or 91 I used to play with her, we always would try to see how much a game genie would cost to go buy it and try it out my son is 15 and still enjoys playing that game every once in awhile he has every kind of game system but because he is the baby but we won’t talk about that today!
Hmm, I do think she is talking about Super Mario World here (the 4th installment).
This was one of my favorites games when I was growing up. I got it right when it came out, and played it quite a lot when I was a kid. Many years later, I still play the game and still enjoy playing it.
No one mentioned The Wizard! That gave this game so much extra hype before it came out. It was the first time in my childhood that I recall seeing video games presented to the mainstream.
